Working through Block: Mining Memories for Fiction – A workshop with Carmella Gray-Cosgrove

How do you keep writing when you are experiencing writer’s block, self-doubt, or a creative lull? What tools get you back to a flow state? How can those tools simultaneously produce rich and exciting writing?
This workshop explores simple techniques to draw from your own life and keep writing even when times are tough.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP FACILITATOR:
Carmella Gray-Cosgrove is from Vancouver, BC and has lived in St. John’s, NL for twelve years. Her debut short story collection Nowadays and Lonelier came out in 2021 with Arsenal Pulp Press and won the BMO Winterset Award. Her writing has appeared in Prism International , Broken Pencil , The New Quarterly , Freefall and elsewhere. Carmella is the fiction editor at Riddle Fence .
