What’s in Flora’s Shoebox – Book Launch!

Join Author Sarah Jane Conklin and Monster House Publishing for the book launch of What’s in Flora’s Shoebox at the Halifax Public Library, BMO Community Room. Saturday, February 4, 11:00-11:30 AM.

What is in Flora’s shoebox, that she keeps under her bed? Are they keepsakes of all the places that she has travelled? Flora has explored the world with her knapsack, leaving behind the smallest carbon footprint possible. A conscientious traveller, she is respectful of nature’s beauty and nature’s treasures. As Flora is older now, we discover that the treasures in her shoebox are simply tiny scrolls of paper with the names of places that she has been. Those pieces of paper are her reminders of all her adventures. Nature’s gifts are left behind in the hopes that they will be preserved for others to enjoy. Illustrated by Venus Angelica. Written in verse, this book is highly visual and descriptive
