Phase Variations book launch & afterparty – Lunenburg edition

If you missed the Halifax launch, this is your chance to celebrate Nevermore’s first publication under our new visuals-focused imprint, Copy Shop Books! ???? The artist will be present and a discussion about the work and the archives will be the highlight of the evening.

“Phase Variations” is a limited edition publication documenting an exhibition of the same name by Nova Scotia-based visual artist, Lou Sheppard. Acting as an archive in and of itself, the publication houses a multitude of ephemera collected and created to memorialize the show.
*A (very) limited edition screenprint by the artist will be included with any in-person sales during the evening.* (while supplies last)

Drawing inspiration as well as content from a community archive of queer materials collected over many decades, the work in the exhibition aimed to rediscover and celebrate the often excluded and erased queer history of Atlantic Canada.

The publication includes essays by Undine Clara Foulds, Brody Weaver, francesca ekwuyasi, and Robin Metcalfe. Photo documentation by Rebecca Delle Monache.

Phase Variations (exhibition) ran from February 22–April 17, 2022 at Saint Mary’s University Art Gallery, Halifax NS. It was curated by Robin Metcalfe.
