NANCI LEE is a Syrian-Chinese poet and educator based in Mi’kmaki (Nova Scotia). When not writing or playing outdoors, Nanci works for Tatamagouche Centre, a justice-oriented retreat and learning centre focused on learning, gathering, transforming divisiveness through encounter. Nanci’s work has appeared in Contemporary Verse 2, The Malahat Review, Matrix Magazine, The Antigonish Review, The Literary Review of Canada, The Fiddlehead, Rattle Magazine, and This Magazine. BRIAN BRAGANZA is a writer and singer-songwriter and lives in a straw-bale house he built on an old farm property in the Mi’kmaq district of Kespukwitk, in south-western, Nova Scotia, Canada. Brian has written a manuscript of poetry, Ancestral Heirlooms, which explores liminality and the spaces in-between. He also writes creative non-fiction essays and articles, and has been published in Anchor, Salt Scapes Magazine, and most recently in Existare Literary Journal, among others. He plays music and hosts an Intergenerational Open Mic in Bridgewater. Brian’s follies include restoring a 150-year old barn, growing an arboretum, working on a variety of stone-wall and stone circle projects, and canoeing in the Tobeatic Wilderness Area.

shalan joudry is a narrative artist, ecologist, and mother, as well as a poet, playwright, podcaster, oral storyteller, actor, and cultural interpreter. She lives with her family in their community of L’sɨtkuk (Bear River First Nation, Nova Scotia). Her first book of poetry, Generations Re-merging, was published in 2014. JAN MARTIN is a Two-Spirit Mikmaw poet and rapper located in Siknikt, Mikmaki. They represent Goodchance Underdog All-Night Bakery & Poetry Cafe and the Jar of __ rap crew. Their work explores themes of Absurdity, Indigenous existence in a systemically racist world and fictional characters as allegory.
