Nora Loreto on Politics

August 15, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm America/Halifax

In partnership with Fernwood Publishing and the University of Kings College, join us Tuesday, August 15th, for an evening with Nora Loreto, in conversation with CBC Mainstreet Nova Scotia’s Jeff Douglas. Nora is an author, podcast host, activist, and journalist. Author of multiple books, including Spin Doctors, Take Back the Fight, and From Demonized to Organized. Nora Loreto is on half of the podcast, Sandy and Nora Talk Politics, a show that helps Canadians “look at politics, society, the economy and social movements.”

Loreto’s latest release, Spin Doctors, documents each month of the first year of the pandemic and “demonstrates how politicians and uncritical media shaped the popular understanding of these issues and helped to justify the maintenance of a status quo that created the worst ravages of the crisis.”

A night not to be missed. Join us!
