The Petitcodiac Public Library presents another edition of our Writers on the River Reading Series! Acclaimed poets Sue Sinclair, Daniel Scott Tysdal, and Triny Finlay will be reading from their new book – all out now from Goose Lane Editions. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear three incredible writers read and discuss their work. All writers will have books for sale.
Sue Sinclair grew up on the ancestral homelands of the Beothuk in Newfoundland and is currently living on Wəlastəkwiyik Territory, where she teaches creative writing at the University of New Brunswick. She is the author of five previous collections of poetry, all nominated for or winners of national or regional awards. Sinclair edits poetry for Brick Books and is also editor of the Fiddlehead.
Triny Finlay is a queer poet, writer, teacher, and mother whose collections include Splitting Off and Histories Haunt Us. Her writing has appeared in Breathing Fire 2: Canada’s New Poets, Arc Poetry Magazine, Contemporary Verse 2, The Fiddlehead, Grain, The London Reader, The Malahat Review, Plenitude, University of Toronto Quarterly, and Untethered. She teaches English and Creative Writing at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton.
Daniel Scott Tysdal is an award-winning writer, filmmaker, and teacher. He is the author of three poetry collections, including the ReLit Award-winning Predicting the Next Big Advertising Breakthrough Using a Potentially Dangerous Method and the widely acclaimed Fauxccasional Poems, as well as the poetry textbook The Writing Moment and the viral-trending TEDx talk “Everything You Need to Write a Poem (and How It Can Save a Life).” Tysdal teaches at the University of Toronto Scarborough.
Alyda Faber lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she teaches Systematic Theology and Ethics at Atlantic School of Theology. She is the author of dust or fire and her poetry has appeared in Canadian and Frisian literary magazines including Arc Poetry Magazine, the Fiddlehead, and Contemporary Verse 2. Alyda Faber has also published widely on theology and religion in film and literature. Poisonous If Eaten Raw is her second poetry collection.
