Your go-to list of book events featuring Atlantic Canadian books and authors!
We can hardly believe almost a year has passed since our successful WordSpring event at St. Thomas University in 2022. This year, we are in Saint John, hosted by the wonderful staff at the Saint John Central Library, and Chateau Saint John. Along with our Friday night Literary Soiree celebrating the winners of the 2023 NB Writing Competition, we have a great lineup of workshops, kicked off by our fabulous keynote speaker on Saturday morning – James Mullinger! If you can’t commit to the whole weekend, you can register separately just to hear James’ message.
Our workshops will feature: Recording audiobooks by Sarah Xerar Murphy, Writing Comedy by Marshall Button, Advanced Poetry by Michael Pacey, and The Art of the Series by Charles (Chuck) Bowie. Our workshop leaders will offer an afternoon of readings for you to enjoy, joined by poets Margo Wheaton and Allan Cooper. Register now — https://wfnb.ca/event-5195481
The NB Book Awards–which is free and open to the public– will be held on Saturday evening at Lily Lake Pavilion (at the entrance to Rockwood Park) and emceed by Julia Wright of CBC. Our guest Speaker is Susanne Alexander of Goose Lane Editions!
