Ever wanted to learn how to make your own sketchbook or journal? Join artist Cydnee Sparrow for a morning of learning basic bookbinding techniques using materials that may be in your recycling bin! We will create collaged covers and learn a coptic stitch to bind our books!

About the Instructor: Cydnee Sparrow is currently a 2022 NSCAD – New Glasgow Artist-in-Residence with the Town of New Glasgow’s Community Studio. Cyndee is from Alberta (Treaty 6and 7 Territory) and has a Visual Arts Diploma at Red Deer College, and graduated from NSCAD University in April 2020. Cydnee is interested in translating ambivalent environments that interpret feelings of transient-ness t aid in understanding dysphoric connections to self, influenced by societal gender roles and identities. To translate these spaces, Cydnee often references a blend of organic, sic fi, and anthropomorphic elements based on experiences in nature. Cydnee has a focus in painting, as well as ceramics, embroidery, fabric and paper elements.
