Your go-to list of book events featuring Atlantic Canadian books and authors!
Join us for this special evening of discussion, literary readings and the fascinating world of translation. Award-winning writer and naturalist Harry Thurston will share his book, Icarus, Falling of Birds, which captures the deaths of thousands of songbirds when the Canaport Liquefied Natural Gas plant in Saint John released a hundred-foot-high flare in September 2013. He and Thaddeus Holownia will share how they memorialized this event, respectively, as poet and photographer. Acclaimed translator and author Sonya Malaborza returns to the Attic Owl to share her experiences as French translator for Icare, chute d’oiseaux, as well as what it is like to live and write in many tongues.
