Engaging the Climate is presented by Clean Foundation, with support from Arts Nova Scotia.
Catherine Bush was a 2019 Fiction Meets Science Fellow at the HWK in Germany and has written and spoken internationally about responding to the climate crisis through fiction. Her latest novel, Blaze Island, does just that. Waubgeshig Rice is an author and journalist from Wasauksing First Nation. His most recent novel, Moon of the Crusted Snow, was published in 2018 and became a national bestseller, and also imagines a near future against a climate-challenged backdrop. They join author and festival co-founder Stephanie Domet in conversation.
Then, Kim Stanley Robinson joins the live audience from his home in Davis, California, in conversation with poet and professor of ecology and enviromental sciences Madhur Anand. Robinson is widely acclaimed as the leading speculative fiction writer of our time, and is in high demand as a speaker at climate change conferences.
Tickets are $15 for in person, and $10 for the livestream. One ticket gets you into both conversations.
