Acadian Days at Grand-Pré

Come and join us for four days of celebration with Acadian music, poetry and historic commemorations!

THURSDAY JULY 28
Commemoration the Acadian Deportation 2022
This year’s commemoration will be marked by a tribute to the founding women of Acadie. The walk starts at 4 PM in French and 4:15 PM in English at the Visitor Centre.

FRIDAY JULY 29
Assomption Vie presents Zachary Richard
The internationally renowned Cajun artist’s 50th anniversary show will begin at 7 p.m. under a big tent. Tickets for sale at experiencegrandpre.ca

SATURDAY MORNING, JULY 30
9:15 AM : La famille LeBlanc greets you at the National Historic Site
10 AM : 100th Anniversary Ceremony of the Memorial Church. Come blow out 100 candles with us!
10:30 AM : Presentation in French on the history of the Memorial Church with Sally Ross, Claude DeGrâce and Susan Surette-Draper. (the same conference will be presented on Sunday at 10:30 AM)
12 :30 PM : Cri de terre Poetry Event « Rassembler les poètes à Grand-Pré », a tribute to Raymond Guy LeBlanc. With presentations by Herménégilde Chiasson, Marc Arseneau, André Muise and Mélodie Jacquot-Paratte. Read the poem here (in French)

SATURDAY AFTERNOON, JULY 30
2 PM : Concert by Ronald Bourgeois, singer-songwriter from Chéticamp.
3 PM Acadian Fiddles: a demonstration by fiddlers from all over Acadia, followed by a traditional music ”jam” session open to all amateur musicians in the region. With Denise Daigle, Sébastien Dol, Robin LeBlanc, Pascal Miousse, Karine Gallant and Robert-Yves Mazerolle.

SUNDAY JULY 31
10:30 AM Presentation in English on the history of the Memorial
Church with Sally Ross, Claude DeGrâce and Susan Surette-Draper.

12:30 PM : Concert by Sirène & Matelot – Lennie Gallant and Patricia Richard from Prince Edward Island. Opening act : Micci.
