2022 Friday Night Reading Series (Post-Hurricane Edition)

The Cabot Trail Writers Festival returns to its roots at North River Hall with a beautiful evening of readings!

Hurricane Fiona arrived to our shores on the evening when we planned to host our 2022 Friday Night Reading Series. But we’re thrilled to return to the hall where the festival all began to pass a wonderful November evening in the company of our audience and authors.
All six authors are Cape Breton-born, bred or based, so this event will truly be a celebration of our extraordinary local literary talent and of the local audience that has supported and sustained our festival from the very beginning, through thick and thin (not to mention a pandemic and a hurricane).
Join us at the North River Hall as we gather round the stage to hear Alexander MacLeod , Bill Conall , Mary Louise Bernard , Morgan Murray , Mona Knight and Rebecca Rose share their stories and their words.
We’re also delighted to host Sydney’s new bookstore, On Paper Books, on site, to sell books by the featured authors (and some of the authors previously scheduled for our 2022 festival), so it will be a wonderful opportunity to stock up on holiday gifts for the book lovers in your life.
Tickets are offered on a Pay What You Can basis (suggested amount of $15); if you’re able to donate more to support our festival’s recovery post-hurricane and future programming, we are deeply grateful to you. And if you’re unable to pay, we appreciate whatever you can offer (a smaller donation … or just the support of your applause!) and are glad to share this very special Cape Breton evening with you.
