Update: it is with much sadness that we have to cancel this event. The drive up the hill in the heavy snow was a big factor. We will do everything in our abilities to form a backup plan to celebrate HARD TICKET. Stay safe this weekend, everyone.

With Coast Lines and SPARKS, it’s a beach bonfire!

In a special event kicking off the 2023 SPARKS Literary Festival, Coast Lines is pleased topresent some of the most exciting new writers in Newfoundland! A handful of the literary trailblazers whose work is featured in Breakwater Books’ newest short fiction anthology, Hard Ticket, will join the collection’s editor, celebrated author and creative writing professor Lisa Moore, and Coast Lines host Angela Antle (BA’91) to discuss their stories, the writing process, the Newfoundland and Labrador literary scene and more.

Xaiver Michael Campbell (BA ‘12), Carmella Gray Cosgrove (MA’15), Allison Graves (MA’17), Jim McEwen (MA‘19) and William Ping (BA 18, MA‘20) are some of this province’s most promising authors.

Please note – this event will be live-streamed from the Emera Innovation Exchange at Memorial University’s Signal Hill Campus on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Limited seating is available. If you would like to attend in person, please contact Janet Harron at jharron@mun.ca.
