Michelle Porter is a poet, editor, and researcher based in Newfoundland and Labrador. Her first book of poetry will be published in the fall of 2019 by Breakwater Books. Currently she’s working on a book-length creative nonfiction manuscript (funded by CCA) about the crooked fiddle music made by her grandmother's Métis family band, The Red River Echoes. She holds a PhD in Geography and an MA in Folklore.
