Denise Paquette
Born in Montreal, Denise Paquette lived in the Maritimes for some forty years. After studying visual arts and literature, she published her first children's book, Une promenade en girafe (A ride on a giraffe) (1989, Éditions d?Acadie), and went on to contribute to over fifty books, including Gribouillis barbares (Barbaric scribbles) (1999 ? Hackmatack Award finalist), Bonjour la rivière (Hello river) (2006) and Dis dix dinosaures (Say ten dinosaurs) (2014). Her illustrations have been exhibited in galleries in Québec and New Brunswick. Some are now part of the permanent collection at the Moncton Public Library and the Centre Samuel-de-Champlain in Saint John, New Brunswick.
