Joshua Whitehead will explore his ideas of “motoring” a story by discussing the inherent role of Cree kinship, based within the noun “body”, to stretch the web of signification to include bodies of water, land, literature, and language. We will explore how we are always in constant relations with the plethora of kin around us including the non-human, four-legged, winged, gilled, and flora. We will further explore how to write ethically and creatively of our human bodies in connection with these kin, primarily focusing on the idea of proximity and “zooming in”.
