Reviews Humour #80 Winter 2015 ,
You might be entertained, moved, and more
You might be from Newfoundland and Labrador if you casually pick up this book only to find that you can’t put it down because it’s funny, smart, and sweet. You might find yourself laughing in a wonderful ah ha moment of recognition, then with the turn of a page find yourself inexplicably moved to tears. You might wonder how such a slender volume can carry so much weight of meaning while disguising itself as light wondrous entertainment.
If you might not be from Newfoundland and Labrador you will love it all the more because it’s drawn in a captivating manner. It should be required reading for all Canadians. So should his other two books about Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. The biggest hope we have for national unity is if he does one for each province and territory. And then the world. Thank you, Michael De Adder.
