Jim Meek is an award-winning writer and journalist whose work has appeared in the <i>Halifax Chronicle Herald</i>, <i>Canadian Business</i>, the <i>Globe and Mail</i>, <i>Nieman Reports</i>, <i>Canadian Geographic</i>, <i>Progress</i>, and several other publications. Based in Halifax, Meek was co-author of <i>Offshore Dream, a History of Nova Scotia's Oil and Gas Industry</i>. He was awarded a Nieman fellowship by Harvard University and was a recipient of the Hyman Solomon Award, which recognizes excellence in Canadian public policy journalism.
