Alden Nowlan
Alden Nowlan (January 25, 1933 – June 27, 1983) was a poet born in Stanley, Nova Scotia, near Windsor. He discovered the library at age 16, when he was working at a saw mill, and began to read and write although education was frowned upon in his family. At age 19, he took a job at Observer, a newspaper outlet in New Brunswick, and soon began writing and publishing poetry.
