Pitch the Publisher returns to Word on the Street on Sunday, Sept 21 this year, and the Atlantic Publishers Marketing Association invites writers to put their best pitch forward!
On Sunday, September 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Pitch the Publisher will offer potential authors a unique opportunity to present their book ideas to a panel of Atlantic-based publishers. Pitch sessions are organized by literary genres: one for non-fiction ideas at 12:00 p.m., one for children’s and young adult book ideas at 1:15 p.m., and one for fiction and poetry ideas at 2:30 p.m. Our experts will offer suggestions and feedback on how to develop your book ideas or manuscripts for publication.
Back by popular demand, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., we’ll host a panel discussion that examines a key topic for new authors Choose Your Own Adventure: Self Publishing or Traditional Publishing? A panel of authors and publishers who have experience in both realms will explore when it might be appropriate to self publish, and when it would be best to go the traditional route—and why.
Registration by email will open at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014. Space is limited. To book a time for your pitch please email apma.admin@atlanticpublishers.ca or call (902) 420-0711. Pitches will also be accepted from the audience if time permits.
