The text uses some predictable and cumulative patterns but also includes joyful surprise patterns\u2014and a healthy dose of nonsense\u2014to stimulate children\u2019s imaginations. Kidlit heavyweight Sheree Fitch of River John and world-renowned rug hooking artist Deanne Fitzpatrick of Amherst have teamed up to create a kids\u2019 book about body movement called Singily Skipping Along .
\nFitzpatrick\u2019s rugs are on sale in an online auction (singilyskipping.ca) with all proceeds going toward L\u2019Arche Atlantic, which is dedicated to homes, programs and support networks for people who have intellectual disabilities.
\n\u201cI didn\u2019t want those rugs to get sold off one by one. I wanted something special to happen to them,\u201d says Fitzpatrick.
