The Poetry and Craft of Picture Book Writing–Redux!

Join Jen McGrath on Saturday, November 5 at Golden Jubilee Hall in Sussex from 10 am to 2 pm for an expanded version of the workshop she gave at WordSpring this past June, 2022 at St. Thomas University. Jen will give us a bit more detail about the creative process, the art and craft of writing a ‘deceptively simple’ picture book text; the realities of the Canadian children’s book publishing industry; trends and considerations; pitching editors; and why picture books are for everyone.
As an added bonus, Jen will add an “Ask Me Anything!” segment at the end of workshop. So, bring your questions about the industry, and your own projects, whether they be storybook or middle grade manuscripts.

Coffee, tea, water and nibbles will be provided for breaks. But lunch is on your own–feel free to brown bag it, or visit local restaurants.
