ABOUT THE READERS

SAMANTHA STERNBERG was born under a waxing gibbous moon. Her poetry has been published in journals such as Room, The Malahat Review, Plenitude and CV2, and she is the author of the chapbook, Kinship and Light: The Wyeth Poems (2018). She lives in Kjipuktuk (Halifax, NS).

MATT ROBINSON has published six full-length poetry collections, including Tangled & Cleft (Gaspereau, 2021) and Some Nights It’s Entertainment; Some Other Nights Just Work (Gaspereau Press, 2016), as well as numerous chapbooks. He has won the Grain Prose Poetry Prize, the Petra Kenney Award, and The Malahat Review Long Poem Prize, among others. He is on the poetry editorial board of The Fiddlehead and he also plays a fair bit a beer league hockey when pandemic restrictions allow. He really likes dogs and cats and he lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia, with his family.

Kjipuktuk (Halifax) poet and novelist ANNA QUON likes to create paintings and short animated films of her original poetry. Middle-aged, mixed race and Mad, Anna is also a Baha’i, a writing workshop facilitator, and a current board member of the Writer’s Federation of Nova Scotia. Self-employed, Anna has worked in the not-for-profit sector for more than two decades, except for several years as a freelance writer. Her chapbook, Body Parts was published last year by Gaspereau Press and her latest novel Where the Silver River Ends has just been released by Invisible Publishing.

ANNICK MACASKILL’s third poetry collection, Shadow Blight, will be published by Gaspereau Press in the spring of 2022. Her two previous collections are No Meeting Without Body (Gaspereau Press, 2018), longlisted for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award and shortlisted for the JM Abraham Award, and Murmurations (Gaspereau Press, 2020). Her poetry has appeared in journals across Canada and abroad and in the Best Canadian Poetry 2019. She is currently serving as Arc Poetry Magazine’s Poet-in-Residence.
