DESCRIPTION:From published dramatic poetry to still-in-development musicals\, the Shipwright Sessions give you the opportunity to hear excerpts of these works from the playwright themselves combined with an up-close look at the writer through mini-interviews led by Ship’s artistic director Richie Wilcox. This season\, the Shipwright Sessions\, which are free to the public and entirely online\, will feature Santiago Guzman\, Sharon King-Campbell\, and Jiv Parasram.  \nSharon King-Campbell is a theatre and literary artist based in Ktaqmkuk\, colonially known as Newfoundland. She is a playwright\, actor\, director\, producer and scholar with a passion for the connective and change-making power of theatre. Sharon was the 2017 recipient of the Rhonda Payne Award\, was long-listed for the CBC Poetry Prize in 2020\, and is a three-time winner of the Arts & Letters Awards in fiction\, dramatic script and poetry. Her collection of poetry\, This Is How It Is\, was published in 2021. Sharon holds a BFA Theatre and a MA English from Memorial University of Newfoundland\, and is currently pursuing her PhD. \nSharon will be live to read a little bit from ‘Dayboil\,’ and also from ‘Factory Girls\,’ which is about women working in a munitions factory in Toronto during World War I \nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/978017512912691/
