“He could see himself on his new mountain bike, racing down to Garrison Field with the other kids. In his mind, he was flying over that huge speed bump.”
Andrew was hoping that the surprise from his aunt would be the shiny, new mountain bike he had seen with her in a sports store during a summer visit. But the surprise turns out to be a dog named Blue. Andrew is tired of adults making decisions for him. He rejects the dog and is determined even more to make his own choices.
